About National Security Guard (NSG)
Formed in 1986 by an act of Parliament, the NSG is a Federal Contingency World Class Zero Error Force that deals with anti-terrorist activities. The team is specially equipped and trained to deal with specific situations and is used only in exceptional circumstances to thwart serious acts of terrorism. NSG operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It comprises two components: Special Action Group (SAG) which is the strike wing, and Special Ranger Groups (SRG) who handle VIP securities.
The vision of NSG is to be a world-class zero error force with the mission to maintain readiness to combat terrorism swiftly and effectively. The NSG headquarters is located in Manesar, Gurugram.
