Local Area Management Plan (LAMP)

The CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) plans to counter Delhi’s air pollution with a grid-based approach called ‘Local Area Management Plan’ (LAMP). Presented at the India Clean Air Summit 2023, the strategy aims to create tailored solutions for pollution control in specific hotspots. NEERI will divide the National Capital Region into 2 sqkm tiles, monitored by stationary and mobile sensors across seasons. The plan incorporates high-resolution emission data and source-apportionment studies to target local pollution sources. This approach complements the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) and focuses on both hotspot-specific actions and a wider airshed strategy.
