Funding for Tribal Festivals
The ministry provides financial support to the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) for organizing national and state-level Adi Mahotsav festivals. These festivals serve as platforms to exhibit and celebrate the rich diversity of tribal culture.
Digital Transformation of Tribal Schools
Under its digital transformation initiative, Microsoft has adopted 250 EMRS schools in the first phase. Of these, 50 EMRS schools are being provided intensive training, and 500 master trainers are being trained to bring digital education to tribal students.
Development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs)
This initiative covers 75 PVTGs aiming for their comprehensive socio-economic growth. The development initiatives include programs tailored to enhance their livelihoods, health, and education.
Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana
The Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana is a tribal entrepreneurship development program. It focuses on forming and bolstering clusters of tribal Self Help Groups (SHGs) into Tribal Producer Companies to foster economic empowerment.
TRIFED: Empowering Tribal Communities
TRIFED functions under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and acts as a facilitator and service provider for tribes to sell their products. Its mission is to equip tribal people with knowledge, tools, and a database of information, enabling them to function in a more systematic and scientific manner. TRIFED regularly organizes Tribal Artisan Melas (TAMs) to identify new artisans and products at the grassroots level. It also participates in MSP for MFP and TRIFOOD Schemes.
