The Challenge Covid-19 Competition (C3)

The Challenge Covid-19 Competition (C3) was a competition aimed at drawing out unique ideas and innovations to manage the unprecedented global pandemic that is Covid-19. This competition provided an avenue for innovative citizens to put their creative thinking hats on and come up with solutions that could help manage the pandemic and its consequences.

In a bid to ensure that these ideas do not just end as mere thoughts, the NIF provided incubation and mentoring support for further dissemination to the generators of these potent ideas. This support was aimed at nurturing these ideas and assisting in the value addition in the innovations.

The competition which ran from the last day in March to the 10th of May 2020, produced two recently supported innovations – a foot-operated device for hand sanitization and an innovative sprayer for sanitization. These innovations are timely and suitable for the times as hygiene and sanitization have become a crucial part of our daily routines due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
