Atal Innovation Mission: The Launchpad for Innovation
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative introduced by the Government of India with an intent to fuel the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the nation. Its primary goal is to create novel programs and policies that encourage innovation in various sectors of the economy. By creating a platform for collaboration opportunities among different stakeholders, AIM aims to increase awareness and establish an umbrella structure to oversea the country’s innovation ecosystem.
Exploring the Major Initiatives of AIM
A host of major initiatives have been launched under AIM, such as Atal Tinkering Labs which encourages problem-solving mindsets in schools across India and Atal Incubation Centers that provide support to world class startups and add a new dimension to the incubator model. More initiatives include Atal New India Challenges that align product innovations to the needs of diverse sectors or ministries and Mentor India Campaign that fosters a national mentor network in collaboration with the public sector, corporates, and institutions. Furthermore, the Atal Community Innovation Center and Atal Research and Innovation for Small Enterprises (ARISE) stimulate community-centric innovation and research in the MSME industry respectively.
