Online Registrations Begin for Yuva Sangam (Phase III) – An Opportunity for Youth Across India

The Indian Government’s Yuva Sangam initiative, launched under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), is all set to enter its third phase. This program aims to foster connections among the youth hailing from different States and Union Territories in India. The latest registration portal for Phase III is now open, and it invites young individuals aged between 18 and 30, including students, NSS/NYKS volunteers, and employed or self-employed persons, to participate.

What is Yuva Sangam?

Yuva Sangam takes inspiration from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and focuses on experiential learning to provide young participants with a firsthand understanding of India’s rich diversity. This initiative promotes cultural exchange and offers immersive experiences in different aspects of life, natural landscapes, developmental achievements, and inter-youth connections in the host state. Phase III of Yuva Sangam involves participants from 20 Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) visiting 22 states and UTs.

Five Broad Areas of Exposure:

Youth participating in Yuva Sangam will engage in multi-dimensional exposure under five key areas: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology). During their 5-7 day visits, they will immerse themselves in the culture and life of the state they are exploring, facilitating interactions with local youth.

Ministries Involved:

Several ministries are contributing to the success of EBSB, each with specific responsibilities. These include the Ministries of Education, Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, Information & Broadcasting, and Railways. The Ministry of Education plays a crucial role in youth selection and tour management through Higher Education Institutes.

A Resounding Success:

Yuva Sangam, following the model of Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS), has witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth all over India. To date, more than 3,240 individuals have participated in 73 tours across different phases of Yuva Sangam, including the pilot phase under EBSB. This initiative has fostered a spirit of volunteerism among young participants, leading them to actively contribute to national events such as NEP Celebrations, Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, and various other nation-building activities.
