The ministry of electronics and information technology said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a global virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI) named RAISE 2020 – ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’ on October 5.
Highlights
- The summit is scheduled to be held from October 5 to 9, 2020.
- It is being organised by the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) and NITI Aayog
- The inauguration will take place in the presence of minister of electronics & IT, communications and law & justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad, eminent global AI expert Professor Raj Reddy, , IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and Reliance Industries Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani.
- Professor Raj Reddy will also hold a session on October 6, 2020 about developing voice-enabled AI that removes linguistic barriers.
- Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai, and Brad Smith, president & legal head, Microsoft Global will also participate in the session.
RAISE 2020
Responsible AI for Social Empowerment (RAISE) 2020 is a virtual global summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI). To keep with the theme of “Responsible AI for Social Empowerment”, RAISE 2020 will host an exciting line-up of leaders, policy designers, innovators and other stakeholders, who contribute on the potential of artificial intelligence in order to promote public good across domains including the health, education, mobility and agriculture.
RAISE 2020 will have a dedicated session on building an inclusive AI which will empower one billion-plus Indians. In the session Jenny Lay Flurrie, the Chief Accessibility Officer of Microsoft will be sharing her views. Anita Bhatia who isan assistant secretary-general, deputy executive director, UN Women will also deliver a keynote in this session. So far, more than 15,000 stakeholders from across academia, the research industry and government representatives from across the world have registered to participate in RAISE 2020.
