Project Veer Gatha 4.0 Engages Students Nationwide

Project Veer Gatha 4.0 has witnessed overwhelming participation from school students across India. Over 1.76 crore students from all 36 States and Union Territories have engaged in this initiative. They have created poems, paintings, essays, and videos honouring the bravery of Armed Forces personnel. This project aims to instil patriotism by sharing inspiring tales of gallantry and selfless sacrifice.

Background of Project Veer Gatha

Launched in 2021, Project Veer Gatha promotes awareness of gallantry awardees. It encourages students to explore and celebrate the stories of these heroes. The project serves as a platform for creative expression, helping students connect with the values of courage and sacrifice.

Activities Conducted

The project has included various activities from 16 September to 31 October 2024. Schools have submitted their best entries on the MyGov portal. Additionally, the Ministry of Defence has organised virtual and in-person awareness sessions. These initiatives aim to deepen students’ understanding of the gallant heroes and their untold stories.

Participation Over the Years

The project has seen increase in participation. The first edition had 8 lakh students, while the second attracted 19.5 lakh. The third edition saw participation soar to 1.36 crore. This growth reflects the project’s expanding reach and impact on young minds.

Recognition and Awards

Each edition has culminated in the recognition of outstanding participants. In the first two editions, 25 winners were honoured, while the third edition celebrated 100 winners. This year, Project Veer Gatha 4.0 will also select 100 national winners. Each winner will receive a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Additionally, there will be district and state-level winners, further encouraging local recognition.
