Promotion of Tribal Products for North East Region (PTP-NER 2.0) Scheme

TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India) is set to launch the second phase of the ‘Promotion of Tribal Products for North East Region’ (PTP-NER 2.0) scheme on September 21, 2023. The first phase (PTP-NER 1.0) involved engaging with over 2500 artisans from 44 tribes, with 1056 artisans empaneled and 1465 identified for training. During this phase, TRIFED procured over 3100 tribal products, including textiles, forest produce, jewelry, and more. PTP-NER 2.0 aims to showcase tribal artisans’ cultural heritage in 29 districts of the North East Region, strengthening their livelihoods through technology, market access, and packaging. TRIFED, a national-level cooperative, focuses on promoting tribal products and sustainable tribal livelihoods.
