The Rajya Sabha has passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 on February 8. This bill replaces the ordinance to merge the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) cadre of civil services officer with the Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.

Out of this number, 233 members are elected by the states and UTs legislatures, and 12 members are nominated by the president of India. The lower house of the parliament is Lok Sabha.
