The Rajya Sabha has passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 on February 8. This bill replaces the ordinance to merge the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) cadre of civil services officer with the Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.

It is the upper house of parliament. Currently, the maximum number of members of the house are 245.
