Oncologist Ravi Kannan has been honored as one of the four recipients of the prestigious 2023 Ramon Magsaysay Award, regarded as Asia’s premier prize for exceptional spirit and transformative leadership. The award, presented annually by the RMAF board of trustees, recognizes outstanding contributions in various categories, including government service, public service, community leadership, journalism, literature, creative communication arts, peace, international understanding, and emergent leadership. This award, celebrated on August 31st, the birth anniversary of Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, has been previously bestowed upon notable Indians like Mother Teresa, Satyajit Ray, and more recently, Arvind Kejriwal and journalist Ravish Kumar.
