SAMPANN Project Delivers Pension to Over 100,000 People

The System for Accounting and Management of Pension (SAMPANN) has recently been on the news spotlight for its remarkable achievement in pension distribution. The project has successfully enabled over one lakh pensioners to receive their pensions directly into their bank accounts.

Understanding SAMPANN Project

Launched in 2018, SAMPANN is a seamless online pension processing and payment system primarily designed for Department of Telecommunications pensioners. This ambitious initiative was orchestrated and implemented by the Ministry of Communications with an aim to enhance efficiency and convenience in pensions payment. One of the major breakthroughs of this project includes the quicker settlement of pension cases which ultimately promotes a smoother reconciliation and auditing process. Furthermore, it significantly helps in simplifying accounting tasks for the department.

Accomplishments of SAMPANN

The SAMPANN project has not only improved the pension payment process but also managed to resolve nearly 76,000 BSNL Voluntary Retirement Scheme 2019 cases within a short duration of six months.
