Santh Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti

Santh Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti is being celebrated at the national level for the first time this year. The celebrations mark the 284th birth anniversary of Santh Sevalal Maharaj, a spiritual leader and social reformer of the Banjara community. The celebrations are being organized by the Union Ministry of Culture under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Santh Sevalal Maharaj: A spiritual leader and social reformer

Santh Sevalal Maharaj was a spiritual leader and social reformer of the Banjara community. He was born in the early 18th century in a small village called Kanholi, in the Nanded district of Maharashtra. Santh Sevalal Maharaj is known to have travelled afar to dispel and eradicate superstitious beliefs of the tribal community and brought about social reforms in the region. He was said to be well-versed in Ayurveda and Naturopathy.

Santh Sevalal Maharaj’s teachings were rooted in the philosophy of non-discrimination and humanism. He believed in the principle of equality and worked towards the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of society. Santh Sevalal Maharaj’s teachings have had a profound impact on the Banjara community and continue to inspire people across the country.

Celebrations organized under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

The celebrations of Santh Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti are being organized under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which is a series of events being organized by the Government of India to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. The objective of the celebrations is to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage and promote national unity.

The celebrations of Santh Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti are being organized across the country. They include cultural events, seminars, and exhibitions. The Union Ministry of Culture is working closely with the Banjara community to organize the celebrations.
