The Centre has appointed senior bureaucrat Saurabh Garg as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It has been done as part of a bureaucratic reshuffle.

- At present, Garg is serving in his cadre state Odisha. He is a 1991 batch IAS officer.
- The appointment of Garg as the CEO, UIDAI has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
- Other than this, Sanjeev Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
- Sanjeev is a 1991 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre.
- Atish Chandra will be Chairman and Managing Director, Food Corporation of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
- Chandra, a 1994 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre.
- At present, Chandra is the Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare.
There are a total of 22 bureaucrats who have been appointed to different ministries as part of the recent reshuffle.
UIDAI
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority established under the provisions of the Aadhaar Act, 2016 by the Government of India on 12 July 2016. It operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
