Gujarat is preparing for the second edition of the ICAR-CIBA’s Shrimp Farmers Conclave-2023, set to be inaugurated by Union Minister of Fisheries, Parshottam Rupala, on September 14. The event will feature important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), including one between CIBA and the Fish Farmers Producer Organization (FFPO) of Gujarat and another with the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) to introduce crop insurance for aquaculture. The Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited plans to launch a shrimp crop insurance product. The conclave will also include book releases, exhibitions, fish seed distribution, technical sessions on shrimp farming, disease prevention, and diversification of aquaculture.
