Self-Neutralising Anti-Tank Mines: Vibhav

The Indian Army has recently added 600 domestically manufactured self-neutralising anti-tank mines, named “Vibhav,” to its arsenal. Developed in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Vibhav is a versatile point-attack anti-tank munition designed to immobilize enemy armored vehicles effectively. It is constructed from durable, modern plastic material, making it resilient in various environmental conditions. These mines can be deployed manually or mechanically and incorporate advanced safety and actuation mechanisms to ensure operator safety. Additionally, they feature an electronic anti-handling and anti-lift device (EAHALD) that remains active for 120 days, after which self-neutralization occurs, with a storage life of 10 years.
