The Indian Air Force is celebrating the seventh anniversary of the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) on July 1, 2023. Originally named Tejas in 2003, this aircraft is a versatile platform renowned for its exceptional capabilities within its category.

The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program was initiated in the early 1980s, with the Government of India (GoI) establishing the project in 1983 with the aim of replacing the aging Mig-21 fighters.
