Shri Ramayana Yatra Special Train

Ramayana Yatra trains cover Janakpur, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Sitamarhi, Prayagraj, Chitrakut, Hampi, Nashik, Kancheepuram and Rameswaram. It’s a religious tour and was planned by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

Highlights

This train was created to promote religious tourism and the Dekho Apna Desh initiative which was started by the central government. IRCTC has begun its first 17-day tour at full capacity from Safdar Jun Station in New Delhi. The next package on the list is the 14 Days 13 Nights. Sri Ramayana Yatra Express Madurai strives to meet the needs of the tourism market for South Indian pilgrims. It is a budget segment train which consists of sleeper class. The Shri Ramayana Yatra train includes a religious journey. It was launched in the month of November 2021 to resume domestic tourism in the country. The train departs from prominent places related to Sri Rama’s life. There are 12 nights / 13 days package and 16 nights / 17 days package.

IRCTC plans to launch a series of Shri Ramayana Yatra tours. Domestic tourism by train will be resumed in view of the improvement in the situation of COVID 19.

First Tour of the Train

The first tour of the Sri Ramayana Yatra train began on 7th November 2021. It started at Delhi’s Safdarjung Station. The first destination is Ayodhya. Here, tourists visit the Shri Ram janmbhumi Temple, Hanuman Temples and Bharat Mandir. The second visit is Sitamarhi, Bihar. It is the birthplace of Sita Devi who was the wife of Lord Ram. Here tourists visit Ramjanaki Temple. The next destination is Varanasi. From Varanasi, tourists visit Varanasi Temple, Chitrakut, Prayag and Shringverpur by the means of road. The next stop is Nashik. Here tourists visit Panchavati Temple and Tryambakeshwar Temple. The next destination is Hampi which is Krishkindha city’s old town. The last stop is Rameswaram and after this the tourists will return to Delhi on the 17th day of the tour. Tourists cover approximately 7,500 kilometers on this tour.

Fare for this tour

IRCTC has issued concessions to promote domestic tourism. The price of 2AC is 82,950 rupees per person. For 1AC, it is Rs1,02,095. This includes accommodation, meals and all other transfers such as road transport. Accommodation is at the AC Hotel. In addition, tourists are only transported by AC vehicle for sightseeing.
