Single Window Filming Mechanism was developed to facilitate film shooting on the railroad. In the month of November, 2021, this mechanism was created. The Film Facilitation Office (FFO) was established to implement this mechanism.

Benefits of Single Window Filming Mechanism
Chief Public Relations offices of railway board which is located in the city of New Delhi and 17 zonal railways was to be visited by the International as well as Indian film makers to submit a film permit application to the railroad. After activating the FFO and its single-window shooting mechanism, filmmakers can submit their application online. This helps filmmakers submit their applications centrally. They don’t have to travel to different states. It also helps to easily submit an application for filming at railroad locations that fall into several railroad zones.
Working of the Single Window Filming Mechanism
First, the filmmaker submits an online application on the FFO portal. After applying, the concerned parties notifies the zone railway. Each zone then accesses the FFO portal application and uploads the permission. In addition to issuing permits, the FFO portal also allows applicants to inquire about approval bodies. This makes the process transparent. It is also useful for timed execution.
