The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has announced a collaborative initiative with Coca-Cola India. This partnership introduces the ‘Super Power Retailer Programme’ as part of the Skill India Mission, focusing on enhancing the retail sector in Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. The program seeks to empower small and micro retailers with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the modern retail industry.
Empowering Retailers:
The primary objective of this initiative is to bolster the capabilities of retailers in the ever-evolving retail landscape. It places a strong emphasis on providing training to small and micro retailers, enabling them to better understand consumer behavior and preferences. The program aims to equip retailers with the necessary skills, tools, and techniques to improve profitability and enhance their business acumen.
Revolution in Skill Development:
Ved Mani Tiwari, COO of NSDC, highlighted the transformative revolution occurring within India’s skill development ecosystem. The collaboration with Coca-Cola India through Skill India Digital is committed to empowering the country’s youth and workforce by enhancing their skills. This initiative is expected to provide top-notch training to both aspiring and established retailers, strengthening their capacity and capabilities.
Program Structure:
Participants in the program will engage in a 14-hour training regimen, featuring a two-hour in-class session and 12 hours of digital instruction. This blended approach combines traditional classroom sessions with the convenience of an app-based Learning Management System (LMS) accessible through mobile and handheld devices. The training modules will be hosted on the Skill India Digital platform (SID) and will employ multimedia elements, including videos, texts, and guidance from experienced trainers to facilitate effective learning.
Positive Impact on India’s Economy:
Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, expressed confidence in the program’s pivotal role in strengthening India’s economy. He emphasized that the initiative will provide quality retail training, covering topics such as business strategy planning and the utilization of digital platforms to tap into vast opportunities.
