The Ministry of Skill Development has unveiled the Skill India Digital (SID) platform, India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for skill development, education, employment, and entrepreneurship. Developed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with industry partners, SID aims to centralize skilling initiatives and offer comprehensive support. It provides access to over 264 skilling courses across 42,623 centers nationwide, supporting multiple Indian languages and ensuring secure access via Aadhaar-based eKYC. The platform leverages facial recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to suggest customized courses. SID also integrates government training programs, introduces Digitally Verified Credentials (DVCs), and offers Digital CVs with QR codes for easy access.
