DMZ

The Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) is a buffer area. It separates North and South Korea. Established in 1953, it marks the end of the Korean War. The zone is heavily fortified. It spans approximately 250 kilometres. Wildlife thrives in this restricted area. The DMZ serves as a symbol of division. It also represents the hope for future peace.
