Taiyoshi Hyakuban is the name of a building which is located in Osaka in the country Japan. The building used to be a brothel earlier and is a century old.

Taiyoshi Hyakuban restoration began in the month of November, 2021. City developers and real estate agents launched a 15-million-yen crowdfunding project. The crowdfunded money is to be used to repair the struggling structure. By the month of August 2021, 19 million yen had been raised for the project.
Importance
Taiyoshi Hyakuban hasn’t functioned as a brothel for decades and this happened after Japan banned prostitution in the year 1957. It is currently operated as a restaurant. The building is a registered material cultural property. Taiyoshi Hyakuban is a wooden building of two storeys. This is a rare example of Taisho era architecture. The Taisho era dates back to 1912 to 1926. There was the Meiji era before the Taisho era. It was chaotic in the Meiji era. During the Taisho era, Japan switched from an oligarchy of elderly politicians to the Imperial Diet. The Diet is the Japanese parliament. The Taisho era is considered to be the era of the Japanese liberal movement known as “Taisho Democracy.” Architecture is of great cultural importance in Japanese history, as there are several details and art exhibitions related to the Taisho era. The structure has dozens of Western and Japanese party rooms. The doors are richly painted and the ceiling is highly decorated.
