Telangana Government’s Support for Handloom Weavers

The Telangana State Government announced initiative aimed at supporting handloom weavers. The government waived loans of up to ₹1 lakh for individual weavers. This move is part of a broader strategy to revitalise the handloom sector, which had faced challenges in previous years.

Support for Powerloom Workers

In addition to supporting handloom weavers, the government addressed the needs of powerloom workers. A yarn depot was set up in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district, with a corpus fund of ₹50 crore. This initiative aims to ensure a steady supply of raw materials for powerloom operations.

Financial Assistance Schemes

The Telangana government launched the Telangana Cheneta Abhayahasta Scheme, allocating ₹168 crore for implementation by January 2025.
