Tehsil Day and Village Sabhas
In Uttar Pradesh, land dispute cases are frequently heard on Tehsil Day, observed on the first and third Saturday of every month. The Revenue Council, under the guidance of the Chief Minister, is conducting a special Varasat campaign in all the gram sabhas of Uttar Pradesh. Village Sabhas, which have been dealing with pending inheritance cases, play a crucial role in the successful resolution of these cases. Their efforts contribute to streamlining the process and bringing justice to the affected families.
Maintaining Law and Order
By resolving pending inheritance-related cases and curbing land conflicts, the Varasat Campaign plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order in Uttar Pradesh. Disputes over land ownership can often lead to tensions and conflicts within communities. Through the campaign’s efforts, the state aims to promote peace and harmony by addressing these longstanding issues and providing legal clarity to landowners.
The Varasat Abhiyan: Tackling Land and Revenue Disputes
The Varasat Abhiyan, initiated by the Uttar Pradesh State Government, aims to tackle land and revenue disputes, along with cases of illegal land occupation by land mafias. The campaign focuses on settling long-standing inheritance-related cases by thoroughly examining old records to identify the legal inheritors and bring an end to disputes.
Key Features of the Varasat Scheme
The Varasat scheme offers several key features to facilitate the resolution of inheritance-related cases:
- Online and Offline Facilities: Villagers have access to both online and offline facilities to register their ‘Varasat’ or inheritance claims. This ensures convenience and accessibility for all residents.
- Special Counter for Non-Resident Applicants: For individuals who own land in the village but reside elsewhere, a special counter has been opened at the Tehsil level. This allows them to apply for inheritance rights and participate in the campaign.
- Benefits of the Scheme: By obtaining proper paper documents for their land property, individuals can secure their ownership rights and avail themselves of various benefits. These include the ability to obtain loans from banks and minimize disputes and animosity within families and relatives.
A Positive Precedent for India
The successful implementation of the Varasat Campaign in Uttar Pradesh sets a positive precedent for addressing land-related issues and promoting transparency and justice in inheritance cases throughout India. By focusing on resolving disputes and providing legal clarity, the campaign paves the way for a more harmonious society, where individuals can enjoy their rightful inheritance without fear of conflicts or uncertainties.
