Tripura’s Chief Minister, Manik Saha, took a groundbreaking step on Monday by inaugurating the state’s first district-level paperless e-office system in South Tripura district.
Progressive Digital Transformation
The launch of the e-office system at the district level marks a significant milestone in this journey. CM Saha expressed the government’s intent to extend this technology to sub-divisional and panchayat levels, with a focus on efficient and transparent data and file management.
Eco-friendly Concerns
During the closing ceremony of the State-Level Wildlife Week celebration at Joychandpur School Ground in South Tripura district, CM Saha underlined the importance of preserving Tripura’s ecological system. He actively participated in the event by releasing butterflies into the Butterfly Garden at Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary, underscoring the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
The Chief Minister also inspected the Butterfly Park, developed by the Forest Department, known for its butterfly breeding facilities, and expressed his commitment to ecological conservation.
Preserving Biodiversity
CM Saha spoke passionately about Tripura’s rich biodiversity, revealing that 73% of the state is covered by forests. He emphasized the need to protect wildlife and their natural habitats, expressing concerns about various animal species facing endangerment due to habitat loss and human-wildlife conflicts. Saha stressed the importance of maintaining the ecological balance, citing incidents of animals straying into human habitats due to deforestation.
Educational Initiatives
The Chief Minister encouraged the community, especially students, to visit wildlife sanctuaries in the state. He announced the education department’s consideration of making such visits mandatory for students.
Tripura’s journey towards digitalization and ecological conservation has taken a significant step forward with the launch of the district-level e-office and CM Saha’s dedicated efforts to protect the state’s rich biodiversity.
