The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has introduced Wheeled Armoured Amphibious Platform (WhAP) vehicles in the Kashmir Valley, showcasing their adaptability for land and water operations. Designed for anti-militancy missions, the 8-by-8 WhAP vehicle offers modern features, modular ballistic protection, and the ability to carry 10 troops plus a driver. Developed by the Vehicle Research and Development Establishment in collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Limited, the WhAP is fully bulletproof, mine-protected, and equipped with a remote-control weapon system. This innovative vehicle can traverse marshes, roads, and rivers, significantly enhancing CRPF’s tactical advantage in counter-terrorism operations.
