The Ministry of Defence has recently made an announcement that the 13th edition of Aero India is scheduled to take place from February 3rd to 7th, 2021 at the Air Force Station Yelahanka in Karnataka. This noteworthy biennial event, which showcases both military and civil aircrafts, attracts a vast global and Indian audience comprising military and civil aircraft manufacturers, their ancillary industries, military officials, government dignitaries and business visitors.
Aero India: A Premier Airshow Event
Initiated in 1996, Aero India has become a premier event on the international airshow calendar. Occurring every two years, it is hosted at the Yelahanka air base, situated approximately 30 km from the centre of Bangalore. The show not only invites participation from international and Indian military and civil aircraft makers, but also draws support industries, military brass, government dignitaries, and business visitors.
A Shift in Organisation for Aero India 2021
Notably, for the 2021 edition, the Defence Exhibition Organisation under the Ministry of Defence will be organising the show, taking over from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) that had arranged the event in 2019.
