The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) observed its 41st Raising Day, denoting more than four decades of work against drug trafficking and substance abuse in India. The occasion was used to strengthen public awareness and youth engagement under the broader vision of a Drug-Free India.
Nationwide Youth Mobilisation
To mark the day, youth mobilisation programmes were held at around 40 locations across the country. These included Delhi, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Raipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Ranchi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Agartala. The events aimed to connect directly with young people and encourage preventive action against drug abuse.
Awareness Activities Conducted
The observance featured anti-drug pledges, awareness talks, rallies and heritage walks. These activities were designed to promote a drug-free lifestyle and build stronger institutional and community partnerships. The programmes also reinforced the role of public participation in tackling the narcotics problem.
