Patel Engineering has secured a major contract for the Lower Arun Hydroelectric Project in Nepal, valued at Rs 1,593.08 crore. The company emerged as the lowest bidder for the project, which is being developed by SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company, a subsidiary of SJVN. The project has a planned capacity of 669 MW and is scheduled for completion within 54 months.

Project Overview

The Lower Arun Hydroelectric Project is an important cross-border infrastructure initiative in Nepal. It is designed to strengthen power generation capacity and support long-term energy needs. Hydropower remains a key part of Nepal’s renewable energy strategy due to its river systems and mountainous terrain.

The Mumbai-based company operates in hydropower, tunnelling, and irrigation sectors, with a focus on timely execution and engineering quality.
