African Lion exercise

The African Lion, conducted by the US-Africa Command, is a multi-national exercise seeking to improve the regional stability and military cooperation in Africa. Its objective is to engage an array of mission capabilities to strengthen interoperability between partner nations and the ability to operate in the African continent. It involves NATO countries and nine other nations. Since 2019, the US Army Southern European Task Force, Africa is leading this exercise.

This year’s edition of the exercise is taking place in the African countries – Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal – and the surrounding seas. It is being held from June 7 to 18. More than 7,000 participants took part in this exercise.
