All-Women’s Art Exhibition titled ‘Akshya Patra’ was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel on March 8. The inauguration was done on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Rabindra Bhavan Galleries in New Delhi.

- The exhibition will display over 250 artworks from more than 12 countries. These artworks also include work by 29 talented female artists who attended the three-day all-women’s national art camp at Garhi Studios during the last three days.

- The minister congratulated Lalit Kala Akademi for providing this opportunity to all the female artists around India and the world and creating a platform where they are showcasing their work made with lots of emotions and the story of their lives.
Lalit Kala Akademi
It is the national academy of fine arts in India. It was formed in the year 1954 and is headquartered in Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi. The academy is funded by the Ministry of Culture. It sponsors and organizes exhibitions in the country and overseas and also provides scholarships and a fellow program. The academy also gives the National Art Award which has a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with a shawl and plaque.
