Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Bill

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Bill is a civic body bill passed by Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The bill proposed to introduce a new governance structure for Bengaluru city and an increase in its municipal limits. The bill seeks to make changes to the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, 1976 under which the city is currently administered. Some of the key provisions include increase in mayoral term, 2 Mayors in 5 years (each with a 30 month tenure), constituency consultative committee headed by an MLA, increase in number of wards, etc.
