Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Bill, 2021

The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Bill, 2021 was passed by the Indian Parliament recently to set up commission for air quality management in the National Capital Region and its surrounding areas.
The purpose of the Bill is to set up an overarching body that brings together various bodies that monitor and manage air quality in the Delhi-NCR region on one single platform. This is to improve the efficiency of the air quality management in a timely manner. It also seeks to free the Supreme Court from having to frequently observe the pollution levels through various cases.
