Cyclone Tauktae

Cyclone Tauktae is a very severe cyclonic storm that was developed in the Arabian Sea. It is the fourth cyclone to have been developed in recent years during the pre-monsoon period (April to June). The name “Tauktae” was given by Myanmar. It means “gecko” in the Burmese language. Though it is moving towards the coast of Gujarat, its impact is felt in the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
