Deusi and Bhailo songs provide a lot of entertainment. Usually sung in groups. This group usually consists of a lead singer or singer and a choir. The group’s lead singer congratulates the homeowner. Minimal number of instruments are used during performance. The entire program takes less than 10 minutes. The group then moves to the next home. The program usually takes place on the 3rd and 4th days of the Tihar Festival.

Origin of Deusi-Bhailo

According to Hinduism, God Vishnu allowed the king of Bali to visit Maitri Loka for a duration of 5 days. The king of Bali was the ruler of Patal Loka and was very proud of his kingdom. To show the king of Bali that Maitri Loka is far better than the Patal Loka Rocca, the gods lighted up Maitri Loka. In Nepal and other parts of India it is celebrated as Tihar.
