Platforms are mandated to disclose any processing charges associated with these payment methods. Secure payment systems featuring encryption and two-factor authentication are essential. For recurring payments, clear information about duration, intervals, and amounts should be provided alongside simple opt-out procedures.

Post-Transaction Support

The guidelines stipulate clear timelines for refunds, replacements, and exchanges. Platforms must establish mechanisms for managing counterfeit products. Timely delivery notifications are required, regardless of whether the delivery is handled by the platform or third-party providers. Refunds for cash-on-delivery transactions must align with consumer preferences.

Neutral Operations and Seller Monitoring

E-commerce platforms must maintain neutral operations, ensuring a level playing field for all sellers. Preferential treatment for any seller or service provider is strictly prohibited. Platforms should conduct regular seller reviews to ensure accurate product listings and descriptions. A comprehensive list of banned products must be readily accessible during seller onboarding.
