E5 Series trainsets

The E5 series trainsets work with similar JR Hokkaido H5 series trainsets. The trainsets are used on services on the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines including the Hayabusa, Hayate since 2011 and Yamabiko since 2011. This series of trainsets were first introduced on the new Hayabusa services. The train was launched between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori. The order for four 10-car trainsets on E5 series design was placed by JR Hokkaido in February 2014.
