Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme- launched in Chhattisgarh.
The State Government of Chhattisgrah launched the Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme on the occasion of Statehood Day celebrations on November 1, 2020.
Highlights
On the occasion of the statehood day, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh also inaugurated the understated schemes:
- Mukhyamantri Sahari Slum Swasthya Yojana was inaugurated.
- Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme was launched.
- Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, third instalment of Rs 1500 crores was released.
- A 132/33 KV power sub station in the district of Bijapur and
- 87.5 km long electricity line to supply 23 remote villages in the naxal affected regions were inaugurated.
Fortified Rice Distribution Scheme
The scheme was launched in order to reduce malnutrition and anaemia in the state. The fortified rice will be distributed through fair price shops, under the scheme.

The rice comprises Vitamin-B12, iron and folic acid in it which helps to control malnutrition and anaemia.
Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme
The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh also inaugurated Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School Scheme worth Rs 130 crore. Under this scheme, 52 English medium schools will be started. These schools will provide online education facilities. It will also comprise of computer and science lab, state-of-the-art library and lab.
Mukhyamantri Sahari Slum Swathya Yojana
It is an urban slum health Yojana. The scheme will provide free health checks, counselling, medicines and treatment to the people in slums. They will also be provided with family planning counselling, resources and family planning measures.
Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana
This scheme was launched in order to ensure minimum income availability to the farmers of the state. It brings more land areas under cultivation. Financial aid is also transferred to the farmers’ accounts directly under this scheme.
