Launched in the year 2018, Future Skills Prime is a joint initiative of the IT industry and MeitY under the leadership of NASSCOM. This program has been extended as part of Indian Government?s Champion Service Sector flagship program.

According to a survey, 50% of the 4 million employees in the IT industry will need to be retrained over the next three years. Moreover, the digital turmoil is changing every industry. Through this initiative, the government and industry are striving to retrain a total of 1.4 million employees over a five-year period (1 million from business-to-business (B2B) qualifications, and another 40 thousand from the country’s sponsorship / promotion). It is one of the government’s leading program.
What is being offered through this platform?
The platform offers interested candidates several options depending on their qualification needs. Through this platform, learners can get off at some point in their learning journey. Earn digital competence badges, get certificates from federally recognized curriculum courses, get full blended learning from major program partners such as CDAC / NIELIT, bridge courses and can complete the basic course.

Implementation of this scheme
The Cabinet approved the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s proposal to pay special attention to the 12 Champion Services sectors identified to promote its development and realize its potential. ITeS and IT services are one of the champion services sectors identified under a comprehensive program called the Champions Services Sector Scheme. This scheme will be jointly implemented by NASSCOM and MeitY.
Eligibility for Future Skills Prime
IT professionals in IT and non-IT companies, state and central government employees, including PSU and autonomous body employees, people selected in internships as well as people researching working on using new technologies in their respective fields and new employees (provided of work)) however, if they have not yet started, are eligible for this program.
