Gir Somnath Modern Fishing Harbour

Recently, the foundation stone for a modern fishing harbour was laid at Nava Bandar in Gir Somnath of Gujarat. The project costs some 300 crore INR and is being touted as a world class facility for the fishing community. Fisheries production in the state touched 8.58 lakh metric tonnes in 2019-20 and the exports were valued at 5,000 crore INR. The state is also working at developing harbours at Veraval, Mangrol, Sutrapada and Modhwada.
