GPS-based toll collection system

The GPS-based toll collection system is a Global Positioning System technology based collection of tolls that was recently cleared by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The system will directly deduct toll fares from the bank account based on the vehicles’ movement. It is to enable seamless movement of vehicles along the highways and make India ‘toll booth- free’ in the next 2 years. It will also enable increasing toll collection.
