This remarkable achievement surpasses their earlier record of 72 medals in the 2018 edition in Indonesia.

As the fourth day of competitions came to a close, India’s position in the medals tally shifted to eighth place, due to the fact that fewer gold medals were secured on Thursday. This reshuffling saw South Korea and Indonesia surpass India, with China continuing to lead the tally with an impressive 156 gold, 128 silver, and 108 bronze medals.
Aiming for 100 Medals
Despite this shift, India remains on track to reach its ambitious target of securing 100 medals in this edition of the Games. The nation’s determined para athletes are leaving no stone unturned to achieve this remarkable feat.

Several para athletes have made their mark at the Games. Sachin Sarjerao Khilari set the tone by clinching the first gold of the day in the men’s F46 shot put, achieving a Games record throw of 16.03 meters. Para shooter Sidhartha Babu secured another gold in the R6 mixed 50m rifle prone SH1 event with an impressive score of 247.7.
The compound mixed team of Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar displayed exceptional skills by winning gold, defeating their Chinese counterparts in a thrilling final.
