India, Bangladesh Conduct Joint Military Exercise SAMPRITI-X

The joint military exercise Ex SAMPRITI-X, held between India and Bangladesh, is currently making headlines. This exercise is being executed at the Jashore Military Station in Bangladesh, from 5th to 16th June 2022.

About Ex SAMPRITI-X

SAMPRITI is a crucial bilateral defence cooperation initiative, alternately conducted by India and Bangladesh. The primary objective of this endeavor is to bolster and broaden the aspects of interoperability and cooperation between the two armies.

Aim of the Exercise

At its core, Ex SAMPRITI-X is designed to solidify interoperability between the two armies and facilitate an understanding of each other’s tactical drills and operational techniques.

India’s Representation

In this joint exercise, India is being represented by a company-strength contingent from the DOGRA Regiment Battalion.

Significance of Ex SAMPRITI-X

The significance of Ex SAMPRITI-X extends beyond mere military training. Throughout the joint military exercise, both nations’ armies will share expertise in several simulated scenarios. These would include Counter Terrorism, Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief, and UN Peacekeeping Force under the United Nations mandate. This exercise will enable participants to grasp each other’s organisational structure and tactical exercises.
