India’s 1st Hot Air Balloon Safari at Bandhavgarh, M.P

The 1st hot air balloon safari of India has been recently launched in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh. It has added a new adventure for visitors at the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

  • This hot air balloon safari service is being operated by the company Sky Waltz. It is a Jaipur-based company.
  • Through this hot air balloon safari, visitors will be able to watch leopards, tigers, Wild Cat, Indian sloth bear, Black Buck, and other animals from a height.
  • However, this service will be restricted to the buffer area of the reserve only. The buffer area of the reserve is spread over an area of 820.03 Sq Km.
  • The state was also planning to introduce a similar service in other tiger reserves of the state like Pench Tiger Reserve, Kanha Tiger Reserve, etc.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Bandhavgarh National Park was declared as a national park in the year 1968 and it became a Tiger Reserve in the year 1993. It is located in the eastern Satpura hill range of Katni and Umaria districts of Madhya Pradesh. The total area of the reserve is 1536.93 Sq Km. Out of this, 716.90 Sq Km is the core area, and 820.03 Sq Km is the buffer area.

Bandhavgarh is known for the Evergreen Sal forest and Mixed forest.

Pench Tiger Reserve

It was established in the year 1977 and is located between two states- Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.  However, it is mostly referred to as a tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh.  Pench Tiger Reserve has a total area of 1179.63 square km.
