The Government of India is hosting the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2023) from 5th to 7th July 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference aims to establish a comprehensive Green Hydrogen Ecosystem and accelerate progress towards global decarbonization goals. By bringing together global experts, the conference seeks to explore advancements and emerging technologies in the field of green hydrogen. Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, in collaboration with other key stakeholders, the conference provides a platform to discuss the evolving landscape of green hydrogen and foster a systemic approach towards decarbonization.

National Green Hydrogen Mission:
- Mission Overview: The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched on 4th January 2023, is a crucial component of India’s decarbonization strategy. It aims to make India a global hub of green hydrogen production, utilization, and export, while contributing to the country’s climate change targets.
- Ambitious Targets: The mission sets ambitious targets, including the capacity to produce 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year by 2030 and adding 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by the same year. It aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, fossil fuel imports, and attract significant investments in the sector.
- Job Creation and Clean Energy Transition: The National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to create over 6 lakh jobs in the sector by 2030, providing employment opportunities while driving sustainable economic growth. It also contributes to India’s transition towards clean energy and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.
