International Dance Day

The International Dance Day was initiated by the Dance Committee of ITI in 1982. It is observed on April 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of the modern ballet. The objective of this day is to propagate the idea of universality of dance. Each year, the ITI’s international Dance Committee and the Executive Council choose the outstanding choreographer or a dancer to circulate a message.
