International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism
International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism is observed on August 21 to recognise and support victims of terrorism across the globe. It came as the result of a UNGA resolution that was passed in 2017.
The objective of this day is to provide and promote human rights and basic freedom for the victims of terrorism. The UNGA resolution calls on the member states to develop comprehensive assistance plans for victims of terrorism and their families with due consideration to the long-term implications on these individuals.
