International Nitrogen Initiative

International Nitrogen Initiative (INI) is a global initiative launched in 2003 to optimise nitrogen’s benefits to ensure sustainable food production and to mitigate the adverse effects of nitrogen on human health and environment. It holds global conference every three years focusing on nitrogen-related topics.

The eighth triennial conference is being held from May 31 to June 3 this year, with the focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It was earlier deferred in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. Around 800 scientists and other stakeholders are taking part in this event from over 60 countries.
