J-16D aircraft was developed Chinese manufacturers to provide an edge for the PLA in electronic warfare. It made its debut during the Airshow China 2021 that is currently being held at Zhuhai in South China’s Guangdong Province from September 28 to October 3.
The J-16D has four jamming pods under its wings and air inlets. It is also equipped with two missiles under its belly and two electronic warfare pods on the wingtips. It has the combined capacity of reconnaissance, attack and defence. It can counter enemy air defence systems of early warning, command and communications and interception and strike.
